Challenge
Video has always been a part of IDEMIA. “Video has been ingrained in our training for a long time,” says Kyle Hassenfratz, Digital Content Designer. “It’s not just about getting people the training content and information they need, it also needs to be engaging and enjoyable to watch.”
Over time, video as a tool has been adopted widely in the company. “It’s come to the forefront of our marketing over the last few years,” says Greg Harp, Creative Director. “It offers us the opportunity to spice up what people would expect to be a potentially dull experience, and make it look good.”
IDEMIA sought a solution to scale and enable its teams with the right platform — one that would enable them to do their best work without crossing wires, offer a diverse set of tools, collaborate remotely, and of course, meet its rigorous security requirements. “Ultimately, what brought us to Vimeo is that we’re a security company who needs a secure place to share content,” says Marissa Bolen, Digital Content Designer.
Solution
As for any business, value and price were key factors. “Vimeo provides the security and space that we need while being affordable,” added Greg. Now, IDEMIA can focus on what it does best: developing engaging videos for clients and stakeholders.
“Vimeo drastically helps with producing and sharing training content internally and externally,” says Kyle. “Having a separate review link for instant feedback makes things really efficient.”
For IDEMIA’s marketing team, Vimeo’s all-in-one tools have supported their strategy, which now includes live streaming events, gating content for lead generation, producing explainer videos — while providing a platform to distribute their content securely. “We use Showcases a lot to package everything up for our sales teams, so they can set clients set up for success,” says Marissa.
User management has proved very useful as well. “With multiple teams using Vimeo, being able to sort content that only certain teams have access to really helps keep things organized,” says Kyle.
Outcome
The switch to Vimeo has also driven greater interest in video projects across IDEMIA. “Vimeo has better name recognition. People who aren’t necessarily involved in video know Vimeo. It helps get more folks involved when they know we’re using a tool they are familiar with,” says Greg.
What initially started as a secure solution has evolved into a true partnership. “The Vimeo team steps in to tell us about new services and tools we can use to improve our strategy. It enhances our brand because of how people perceive us — they know we’re delivering well-produced and accessible content. That goes such a long way to establishing us as leaders in the industry.”
